Why I'm Doing This Series?
Its a personal when it comes to mental health. from an early age I struggled with mental illness and suicidal ideation with a number of unsuccesful attempts in my childhood and teen years. I'm doing this series now not only to raise money for mens mental health and suicide prevention charities but also to create conversation and a way for men to breach the subject and ask their friends "How are you really?" its not easy to talk about but hopefully this series will break the ice for men in Australia to go beyond the surface and make it ok to reach for help.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for men and boys aged 6 and up of all ethnicities

Willing to have your portrait taken

Can make it to our Geelong Studio (64 - 66 Ryrie St, Geelong, Victoria, 3220)

Agree to have your printed portrait included in ALPHA exhibition and photobook.
What's Involved in a Photo Session?

15 minute session.

Professional direction from photographer C.W.Notaristefano.

1 portrait taken on Medium Format Film to be printed
-
1 portrait taken digitally for reference

Complete consent and media release form
-
$200 cost (all profit to charity)
*$200 cost to participate will cover the printing and framing of the final image, studio rental and a small portion to cover time and photographic materials. Around $100 going to cover costs and around $100 going to charity. full breakdown of funds will be emailed to participants at the conclusion of the series. including total money raised to date and full breakdown on money spent producing the exhibition and prints.

What Will I Receive?

1 framed photograph (hand printed using cyanotype on premium archival paper (print will roughly be credit card size) professionally framed). *Please 3 editions of the final print will be made. Edition 1 for exhibition, Edition 2 for the sitter of the portrait, Edition 3 for purchase

A digital copy of both the digital reference photo and the cyanotype print.

Personal invitation to the exhibition (planning for late 2026 early 2027)

Your portrait published in a hardcover book which will be available to purchase on the exhibition night.
